Ahoy me hearties!

Good Afternoon

Jamie went to a Pirate & Princess birthday party this afternoon so I decided to make his friend a pirate card. I only started it last night so it was a bit of a rush to finish it off this morning. One of my Docraft buddies kindly sent me some stamped pirate images but when it came to making the card I couldn't find them. However, luckily I found a magazine freebie containing pirate images and papers. How lucky was that! I am entering this card for the One Stop Craft Challenge where the theme is "Let's hear it for the boys". I really struggle with male cards but am quite happy with this one. There are several images and papers left so think I might make a few more to add to my box.

Also just to let you know there is also going to be a prize this week at Allsorts as well as the Top 5.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Week 3

Good Morning

I can't believe it's already Challenge #3 at Allsorts. We had lots of fab entries for Emma's "No Stamped Image" challenge last week. This week it is Kirsten's challenge and she has chosen "Curly Swirly".

Here is my DT card.

Chloe had a lovely time on her Brownie holiday. She came home with lots of cards and presents from her Brownie friends and they had a party. We celebrated her birthday when she got home on Thursday and went out for a meal in the evening. She really is getting into crafting so I bought her lots of cardmaking goodies and a Cuttlekids shape maker and some dies. She sat for ages cutting out shapes. She wants to buy some more dies with her birthday money. The addiction has started lol! We also bought her a trampoline which is a joint birthday present to share with Jamie.

The weather is gorgeous here today so think I will go out in the garden and plant up the hanging baskets and tubs. Also I can supervise Chris assembling the trampoline lol!

Happy Birthday Chloe

Good Afternoon

Hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend. It's Chloe's 9th birthday today but unfortunately she isn't at home because she has gone away on her Brownie pack holiday. It does feel really strange not to have her at home on her birthday but I am sure she is having a wonderful time with all her Brownie friends. She is coming home on Thursday so we are going to celebrate her birthday then and like she says she will have 2 birthdays (and cakes) this year!

This card is for the Friday Sketchers challenge. I really like this sketch and will definitely use it again.

Blog Candy Winner and a 2 in 1 Challenge Card

Good Afternoon

The winner of my 5000 hits blog candy as chosen by random.org is Lynsey. I have not included any duplicate entries or entries that were made after the candy closed at midnight last night.

I would just like to thank everybody who has entered my blog candy and also become a "follower" of my blog. I decided to let people decide if they wanted to follow my blog as that way people are doing so because they like my cards rather than doing so just to win some candy.

Yesterday I managed to make 2 cards but I can only show you one as the other is a DT card for the 2nd Allsorts challenge on Saturday.

Over on Docrafts we have a weekly Penny Black challenge and this week the challenge is to make a male bithday card, black, white + one colour, 1 ribon, 2 eyelets/brads and 3 buttons. For me to make a male card is quite a challenge so I think this is the most challenging card I have ever made lol! I am also entering this card for the ASFOS challenge where the theme is "Celebration" as it's their 1st birthday.

Papers ~ Harmony Designs by Anna Stemplewska
Buttons, Eyelets & Ribbon ~ Stash

Anyway I must go as there is an Open Afternoon at my son's school so the parents can go in to see the children's work and have a chat with the class teacher.

2 in 1 Challenge Card

Good Afternoon

I have made this card for my daughter's 9th birthday on 26th May. She won't be at home this year on her birthday as she is going on her Brownie camp holiday for a few days so we will be celebrating when she gets home on the 28th. At first I was quite upset at the thought of not seeing her on her birthday but I am sure she will have a fantastic time with her all Brownie friends. The Brownie leaders are going to do a party for her so I am going to send a cake and some party bags. Hopefully they will take some photos for me.

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and the colours "Pink, Green and Blue" from the Lili of the Valley challenge.

Papers ~ Papermania Signature "Blueberry Hill"

Just Magnolia!

Good Morning

Unfortunately I had some sad news yesterday that my Grandad had died. Some of you may remember that back in October my dad suffered a stroke and died just over a week later. My Grandad never got over losing his son and since then has suffered various health problems. He missed my dad so much and told us that his life wasn't worth living now so I get a little bit of comfort from the thought that they are together now. He would have been 94 in a few weeks time so lived to a remarkable age but being so close to losing my dad it is a huge loss to our family. My Nan is still alive and they were married 68 years and she has known him for 73 years.

Anyway onto the card I made yesterday for the Just Magnolia challenge which is a fab sketch by the very talented Bev who I am sure you have all visited. If you haven't I would highly recommend that you do as her cards are absolutely fantastic. I love this sketch and will definitely use it again.
