Happy New Year and Fav 5!

Good Evening

The lovely Debby is asking us to join her and show our Favourite Five of 2010 and is offering some candy, which includes two Penny Black Slapstick stamps, for one lucky winner to be drawn at random on 7th January.  So here are my favourite 5 cards made in 2010.  I actually chose 6 because 2 have the same SWALK image :-)

This is my favourite SWALK stamp and I love the colour combo

Such a sweet PB image and some of my favourite BG papers 'Wisteria'

Again my favourite SWALK stamp and I love the papers

Sweet Pink Gem image and gorgeous Henbury Lane papers

I love the autumn colour combo and gorgeous Prima flower

Another sweet Pink Gem image and I love the magazine freebie papers

I can hardly believe it's the last day of 2010 ... this last year has flown by! To be honest I am not keen on going out celebrating on New Year's Eve so we are staying in with the children and having a Chinese takeaway later.  I will probably also have a few glasses of wine :-)  Hope you have a lovely evening whatever your plans and I would like to wish all of you my very best wishes for 2011.

My Favourite Five Christmas Cards from 2010!

Good evening

Hope you are all looking forward to Christmas .... 2 more sleeps to go :-)

Today I am showing you my Favourite Five Christmas cards for Debby's challenge.  If you would also like to join in the fun pop across to Debby's blog for the details.  Debby will randomly pick a winner for some Candy which includes two LOTV James the bear stamps.  You have until 29th December to enter and  a winner will be drawn on 30th December.

For some reason I always find it really hard to pick my favs but after a little search on my blog these are the 5 I have chosen.  I am not surprised that 3 of my faves have LOTV bear images because I love these cute bears :-)

I really love the colours and adorable LOTV image

I love the blue & red colour combo, sweet Beatrix Potter image and Cat's Life Press sentiment

Again I love the Cat's Life Press sentiment stamp and James the Bear is so cute :-)

This is my favourite Tilda image and I love the non-traditional colours

Again I love this cute LOTV bear and gorgeous Papermania papers

Hope you find time to join in the fun!

Hope you are all managing to keep warm in this cold weather.  I braved the weather and went into town with Chloe this afternoon and managed to finish off my Christmas shopping.  Just need to wrap it all now!  I have a few more cards to write and still need to make Jamie's card.  Hope all your Christmas preparations are going well.

Today's card is for Chris (my OH).  The sentiment on the inside reads 'You're my Christmas Cracker' and I thought it was perfect for this cute LOTV image.

CAS Christmas Cards

Good morning

Just a quick post today because I really need to wrap some presents.  I have just about finished my Christmas shopping but haven't wrapped any presents or written my cards.  Next year I am really going to try and be more organised (I say that every year lol).

Here are some CAS cards I made for my friend's mum.  She wanted them to give to her friends so didn't want them to be too OTT.  They are A6 size and I just used paper from my scrap box and the images are printed from a My Craft Studio CD (A Classic Christmas).

Beary Christmas

Good afternoon

Hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend.  I had a great time at the Christmas party on Saturday night.  We didn't get to sleep until after 4 am because we were chatting in our room so I was very tired yesterday.

My mum is coming over tomorrow with my nan to watch Jamie's school nativity so I have just finished her Christmas card.  I was going to make her an 8 x 8 card but I find this size a little too big so decided to make a 7 x 7 instead so it looked a little bit more special than my normal 6 x 6.

Traditional Christmas

Good morning

At last the snow has disappeared here in Norfolk :-)  It's my work Christmas Party tonight and a few of us are staying over.  I am sharing a room with two of my friends, Jo and Sarah, so it should be good fun!  Jamie is much better now but unfortunately Chris and Chloe have now caught it so I feel guilty about staying out overnight but Chris assures me they will be okay.

Today's card is another one I made for my friend.  This one is for her parents and she told me that they don't do cute so it proved a little tricky at first because I love cute.  Anyway I had a good look through my stash and found a sheet of Penny Black Stickeroos with this beautiful bird image and teamed it up with some Memory Box papers.

I have now finished the cards my friend ordered so now only have to make cards for Chris, Chloe, Jamie, Mum and MIL.  Hope to get them finished this week and then I can tidy my craft area so i'm ready to start up again in the new year.

Today's card is one my friend ordered for her daughter.  She is 15 and I know she loves shopping so thought she might like this cute image.

Now off to catch up with some housework!

A Winter's Tale

Good evening

Brrrr it's chilly here today!  We haven't had anymore snow but it's just so cold and very icy :-(  Anyway it's the 1st of the month so a new challenge has been set at the Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge.  This month there is a fab sketch by Leann with the added option of Christmas.  You can either use the sketch or the theme or combine both.  Sara has kindly dontated a £50 Gift Voucher to spend on the Crafter's Companion website as a special Christmas prize this month :o)

I decided to use this sweet image from the Beatrix Potter 'A Winter's Tale' stamp plate.  When I was trying to find some suitable papers for this image I came across my box of Magnolia papers.  Well I have a rather large selection of Magnolia papers but have never used any of them (hangs head in shame).  The thought of cutting into them was just too much to bear lol!  The problem I had was these papers were perfect for this sweet image so I plucked up the courage and cut them!  The sentiment is Cat's Life Press available from Crafty Emma's Store.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Good evening

Hope you are all well and keeping warm in this cold weather.  We have had quite a covering of snow here in Norfolk but luckily not as much as some other parts of the UK.

Today's card is one of the cards my friend ordered.  This one is for her son.  She said anything cute so I hope she likes it.  I still have cards to make for her daughter and parents and hope to get them finished in the next couple of days.  Apart from making a few cards for my MIL I have never made any cards to order and to be honest they have worried me a little so will be glad when they are finished.

Milton with Flowers ~ Wild Rose Studio Xmas Blog Hop

Good afternoon

My goodness it's cold here today.  I hope the predicted snow doesn't make it as far as East Anglia until the weekend because I have work tomorrow and Friday so that will make an interesting drive into work :-(

Yesterday while I was busy with my card order Hazel (my MIL) called and it reminded me that she had asked me if I could make a birthday card for her friend whose birthday is this Thursday.  A few weeks ago I made a card for Hazel for another one of her friends using this cute Milton stamp and she really liked it so I decided to use it again.

Wild Rose Studio are having a blog hop this week and there are lots of fantastic prizes to be won!  To be in with a change of winning you also have to make a card using a fab sketch by Dawny P.  It isn't essential to use a WRS image but if you have one then that would be great :-)

Sorry for the dark photo but it is so dull here today.

Adorables Triple Step Card

Good morning

Hope you are all well.  It is pretty chilly here today but the sun is coming out now so hopefully it might warm up a little bit.  Sorry for the lack of posts but I am still playing catch up with the housework after being unwell a couple of weeks ago.  Also my friend and her mum have asked me to make some Christmas cards for them so I am also busy with that.

Today over on the Crafters's Companion News, Views and Inspiration Blog there is a tutorial by me with step by step instructions on how to make a Triple Step Card.  Here is the card I made using papers and images from the Crafter's Companion Adorables Christmas Collection CD.  The images have been printed onto Papermania textured cardstock.  The 'snow' was created by tearing a piece of textured cardstock and Stickles and Glamour Dust added to the edge.  The images have also been Stickled and Glamour Dusted for extra sparkle.  I have added small pearls to the centres of the snowflakes.  The sentiment is from one of the Adorables stamp plates.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Totally Papercrafts ~ Snow and Snowflakes
2 Sisters ~ Snowflakes
Paper Play ~ Let it Snow
ASFOS ~ Anything goes
Anything Goes ~ Let it Snow
DCD Christmas Club ~ Anything goes

That's all from me because I need to crack on with the card order.

I got up early this morning to finish Jamie's halloween card.  Most things on this card are from the Echo Park 'Happy Halloween' kit.  The image is a CC Designs stamp 'Halloween Hansel'.  The bats and ghost were sent to me by the lovely Jayne at Crafty Feeling in a pack of halloween die cuts.

Have a Monster Birthday and Music Saves My Soul

Good morning

Hope you are all well on this chilly autumn morning.  I won't have much time for crafting this week because it's half term and the children are at home.  We are going to do some baking later and then take Jake (our border collie) for a long walk.

Yesterday afternoon Jamie was amusing himself on the Playstation and Chloe was on her laptop so I had a couple of hours to make a card for Claire's son, Daniel, who is celebrating his 13th Birthday on 7th November.  Daniel suffers from Asperger's which means he struggles to socialise and interact with others.  He doesn't have parties so Claire has put a request on her blog asking if people would send Daniel a card to help make his birthday special.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.  The weather is awful here today.  We are meant to be going out for the day so hopefully it might brighten up later.

The challenge this week at Cupcake Craft is Boys and their Toys so I thought I would enter this card which uses one of the new Crafter's Companion SWALK stamps.  The image and sentiment are from the stamp plate and the backing paper is printed from the CD.

Just a quick post today because I am now going to have a cup of tea and a bacon butty :o)

Last Sneak Peak :o)

Good morning

Today I am showing you my last sneak peak using Sheena's new stamp range which is being launced today.  The beautiful image on this card is from one of the 'Wouldn't It Be Lovely' stamp plates and was one of my favs to colour.

For this card I wanted the image to be the main focal point so decided to use one of my Cuttlebug folders for the background instead of papers.  I added just a little detail with the pearls and punched border using my favourite MS punch :o)

For My Dad

17/11/1947 - 2/10/2008

It's a sad day for me because it's two years ago that we lost my dearly loved dad.  He was only 60 and unfortunately suffered a stroke which he never recovered from.  I found this verse on the internet and it summed up my feelings about my dad so thought I would post it on here.

What we'd give if we could say,
'Hello Dad' in the same old way;
To hear your voice, and see your smile,
To sit with you and chat awhile,

So if you who have a father,
Cherish him with care,
For you'll never know the heartache,
Till you see his vacant chair.

Love and miss you always Dad xx

Hope you don't mind me posting about this but I still miss my dad as much as I did two years ago and couldn't let today pass without mentioning him.

Hope you all have a great weekend :o)
