Popcorn the Bear ~ School Days!

Good afternoon

It's typical Bank Holiday weather here today - WET!  This morning I met my mum at The Range for a coffee and we managed to spend a few pennies :o).  As it was raining when I got home I decided to make a card for the Just Cute Bears challenge which is a fab sketch by Bev.  They are also having a DT call and seeing as I love bears and have a large collection of bear stamps thought I would apply.  This card also fits with the challenge at My Time to Craft which is Vivid Greeting Cards.

This card is for Jamie to give to his teacher at the end of term.

Happy Birthday Chloe and WOYWDW

Good afternoon

Today is Chloe's 10th Birthday so I thought I would share some photos of her opening her presents this morning.  She wanted a mini laptop so the whole family contributed towards it.  We also bought her a few presents because it would have been a little disappointing for her to only have one present (saying that a very expensive one lol!).

I have been busy today because I had an appointment in town at 10 o'clock and then I had to quickly rush home and prepare a picnic lunch because Chloe's school had a family day so you could have lunch with your children.  Chloe was really excited that we would be having lunch together on her birthday :-)

Anyway I am now back so thought I would quickly show you my crafting area for WOYWDW.  I haven't got any projects on the go today but thought I would show you my new goodies which arrived this morning.  Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Promarkers, papers, brads, Nellie Snellen branch punch and Hanglar & Stanglar stamps.  I have another busy day tomorrow and then I am at work on Friday but hope to be able to play with my new goodies on Saturday.

My mum is coming over shortly which will be a surprise for the children when they come out of school and Chris' mum will also be round later to celebrate Chloe's birthday.

Fairy Dust Tilda

Good afternoon

Last week I bought some gorgeous digi papers designed by Donna at  Bearly Mine Designs.  There are 5 designs (Flower Delight, Dots, Gingham, Floral Dreams and Just Plaid).  I couldn't make up my mind which ones to have so bought them all and I have just seen that Donna is also releasing 2 new sets this Friday.

It is the first time I have used this sweet Fairy Dust Tilda image and I did struggle a little with this image because Tilda is sitting down.  Because I am not very good at masking I usually cut out my sitting down images and mount them with foam pads.  However, with this image it didn't look right because of the 'fairy dust' around her so I got inspiration from Bev's stunning card using this image and used my Copics to make it look like Tilda is sitting on something. I am not overly keen on my attempt but hopefully I will get better with practice.

Penny Black ~ Blue Christmas

Good morning

Well it's another gorgeous day here today.  We have loads of meat left over from last night's BBQ so think we will be firing it up again this afternoon.  Got to make the most of the sunshine!

I was up bright and early this morning so after I had let the dog out and had a cup of tea I decided to make a card for the Winter Wonderland challenge which is a fab sketch by my blogging buddy Marianne.  I found this cute Penny Black image which I had coloured last year but never got round to making it into a card.  I have recently started to colour my images with Copics but this one has been coloured with Promarkers because I didn't have any copics then.  At the moment I can't make my mind up which ones I like best but guess it's okay to use both :-)

Popcorn the Bear

Good afternoon

Fridays is normally one of the days I work but I decided to take today off as annual leave and I am so glad I did because the weather is gorgeous here today. The sun is shining and the birds are singing ~ what more could a girl ask for lol!

Anyway after I had been to Tescos, done the washing and had a quick tidy up I decided to have a little play with my new Popcorn stamps. The new stamps are smaller than the previous ones and an ideal size for 6 x 6 cards. I couldn't decide which stamp to use because they are all so cute but in the end I couldn't resist this sweet little baby bear.

It is the first time I have ever stamped the sentiment onto the backing paper and to say I was a little nervous is a understatement.  I must have practised about 10 times on a scrap piece of paper but I eventually plucked up courage and I am so pleased I did because it stamped perfectly.

WOYWDW

Good afternoon

Hope you are all well.  The weather is gorgeous here today and I am reliably informed by my OH that it's meant to continue into the weekend so think we are going to have a BBQ at the weekend.

I have been busy making a DT card this morning for June's challenge at the Crafty Calendar Challenge.  It is most unlike me to be this organised but it is Chloe's birthday next week and she is also have a swimming party on the Sunday so I decided to get it done so I don't have to worry.

Anyway after my little crafting session I decided to have a good tidy up.  I must admit since I have had my new craft area in the dining room I seem to have kept it pretty tidy but it's early days yet lol!  I have noticed quite a few bloggers take part in WOYWDW and because my craft area is so tidy today I have decided to take part.  I hope to join in the fun most Wednesdays from now on but can't guarantee it will always look this tidy lol!

In this picture you can see my Copic Ciao markers, glue, a new MS punch around the page set which I haven't got round to using yet, my Cuttlebug and paper cutter.  The black case (CD case) is for storing all my nesties and CB embossing folders.

In this picture you can see a storage unit I bought at the weekend which I am going to use to store brads, buttons etc but I haven't got round to sorting them all out yet.  In front of that are my new Popcorn the Bear stamps and CD which arrived this morning.  To the right is my computer desk and PC.

You might be wondering where my desk is but my crafting area is situated near the dining room table so I use that as my craft table.  Everything in the cupboards and drawers are the things I use the most so they are easy to get to.  I also have some more storage units under the stairs for things I don't use as often.

I am now off to get Chloe and Jamie from school and take them to their swimming lesson.

PS:  If you are interested I have blog candy here

So Yummy!

Good afternoon

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.  The sun has been shining here today but it has been a little chilly.  Chris and I went shopping today for Chloe's birthday present and then we stopped off for a pub lunch.

Allsorts are celebrating their 1st Birthday and because I was on the DT I decided to make a card and join in the birthday celebrations.  In addition to the challenge the DT are also doing a blog hop so lots of fabby prizes to be won this week.

Happy 1st Birthday Allsorts!

A few weeks ago I saw this sweet PB stamp and I just had to buy it because these little hedgies are just so sweet.  The image has been coloured with Copic Ciao pens.

Kaya with Flowers

Good afternoon

I have been busy the last few days sorting out my stash.  Chris agreed a few weeks ago that I could buy some new furniture and have a craft area in the dining room but he did also say that he would prefer it if my craft stuff didn't extend all over the house.  Sound familiar to any of you lol!  Anyway my craft area is now finished and I have more stash than space so I have been having a good sort out.  I will be listing some of it on Ebay but I have also sorted some out for a Blog Candy to celebrate my daughter's 10th birthday on 26th May.  I will post the candy in the next few days.

I have, however, found time to make a card for A Gem of a Challenge which is a colour challenge of Burgandy, Pink & Green

I decided to use the sweet Kaya with Flowers and I must admit I have only used a small amount of green on my card but I was desperate to use this gorgeous sheet of paper which is from the  Papermania 'Henbury Lane' paper pack because it is perfect for the colours I have used for my image.

'The Great Outdoors'

Good morning

It's the first Friday of the month again (I can't believe how fast this year is going) and that means a new challenge as been set at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month the challenge is 'The Great Outdoors' - so we would like you to make a card/project that represents 'The Great Outdoors' - it could be to do with outdoor activities, animals and insects or just outdoor colours - added option of insects.

I decided to use this sweet LOTV fairy as I can imagine her living at the bottom of my garden, smelling the flowers and chasing the butterflies.  How lovely would that be!
