Allsorts has a DT Call

Good Morning

We are having a DT call at Allsorts!  A few weeks ago our teamie Gro announced she had decided to step down from her DT position at Allsorts so we now have a vacancy.

If you are interested in being on our DT you need to make a card using the sketch provided and please put DT after your name on Mr Linky.

For this week only we are asking that you make a new card/project (please do not link to an old project because it won't be entered) and that it is only for our DT call and not linked to other challenges.

Here is my DT card
(I have tweaked the sketch a little because I have moved the sentiment)

Image ~ Belles 'n Whistles (Li'l Miss Poppy)
Papers ~ Papermania Capsule Collection (Heather)
Flowers ~ Papermania Capsule Collection, Prima (small flowers), Papermania Glitter Brads, McGill punch for foliage
Gems ~ Stash
Sentiment ~ Forever Friends Die-Cut

Hope you have a great weekend whatever you have planned.

Allsorts #36 ~ Hearts & Flowers

Good Afternoon

Sorry I am so late with my Allsorts DT card but I had to wait for my camera batteries to charge.

This week it's my turn to set the challenge and I have chosen 'Hearts & Flowers'. Please pop across to the Allsorts challenge blog to see the fabulous work my talented teamies have created for this challenge.

The prize this week is a Rachelle Anne Miller clear stamp (Lily - Taking Care) and a selection of paper roses from my stash of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Most of the products used to make this card are from the January Docrafts goody bag which contains the complete range of products from the Papermania Capsule Collection (Sunshine) and this cute Daisy & Dandelion clear stamp. The small orange flowers are Petaloo Flora Doodles and the yellow flowers are from my stash. The sentiment was done on the PC. This is the first time I have bought a goody bag because usually I don't always like everything in them but this one is fab!

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Sophisticats ~ Spring
Charisma Cardz ~ Fruity Colours (Oranges and Lemons)
It's a Crafters Companion ~ Orange and Yellow
The Crafty Pad ~ Animals
Simon Says Stamp ~ Punch It!

We are having a lazy day today and then we are going out later for a late lunch/early tea
at Zak's (American Diner).

Hope you have a great weekend whatever you have planned.

Forever Friends Christmas!

Good Morning

Just a quick post to enter my card/s for this week's Bah! Hambug! challenge which ends today at NOON.

The challenge was to use New or Nearly New to make a Christmas project. I bought a few packs of Forever Friends Elements just before Christmas to make some quick cards but never got round to using them. They really are great for making quick cards, so much so I had time to make two!

The image, flower and sentiment are FF Elements and the ribbon is from my stash.

The image and holly embellishment are FF Elements and the sentiment is a Craftwork Cards die-cut.

I am also entering these cards into the following challenges:-

Forever Friends ~ Quick and Simple
C.R.A.F.T challenge ~ Red
Pollycraft ~ Fire and Ice (Red and White)
Creative Card Crew ~ Punch It!
Susie & Vikki's Christmas Club ~ Snow (I have used the snowflake CB embossing folder for the background on the white card)

Allsorts #35 ~ Brown & Pink

Good Morning

This week at Allsorts it is Kirsten's turn to set the challenge and she has chosen a colour challenge of Brown & Pink. This is one of my favourite colour combos and meant I could use my favourite Basic Grey papers (Bittersweet). Kirsten is offering a fab prize this week of 5 Quickutz embossing dies.

Image ~ Coco and little hearts (Digistamp Boutique)
Papers ~ BG Bittersweet
Flowers ~ Brown (Prima), Pink (Petaloo) and Prima pearl

I am also entering this card for the DT Call at Just Cute Bears which is a new challenge blog dedicated to those of us who have a love for bears. Ever since I have been a little girl I have loved bears and this has now extended into my crafting because I have large collection of bear stamps! The DT call will close tomorrow (17th Jan) at 3 pm so if you would like to be considered for the DT you need to be quick.

It's raining here today so hopefully the snow will all finally disappear.  We are off to visit my mum shortly because it's her birthday today.  Mum has recently got into cardmaking so we have bought her a Cuttlebug as a joint present with my Nan.  I have also bought her a few extra crafting goodies and popped them in a giftbag (stamps, flowers, brads, Cuttlebug embossing folders).  Hope she likes her presents.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Bah! Humbug! #1

Good Morning

I started making this card a few days ago for the Bah! Humbug! challenge but only got round to finishing it last night.  Bah! Humbug! is a new Christmas Challenge and the idea is to take the stress out of Christmas cards by making one a week.  Sounds like a good idea to me and I am going to try my best to play along every week.  The theme this week was to recycle something from a shop bought Christmas card or wrapping paper etc.  Both the image and sentiment on my card were recycled from a shop bought Christmas card and cut out with nesties.

Image & Sentiment ~ Recycled from shop bought Christmas card
Papers ~ Craft Creations
Flowers ~ Crafty Feeling
Holly ~ Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon & Gems ~ Stash

Just a quick post for me because Chris is off work at the moment because of the bad weather (he is a builder so can't lay bricks in this weather) so we are going to pop out for a pub lunch in a while.

Thanks for stopping by.

Good Evening

Hope you are all well and have had a lovely weekend.  We haven't done much this weekend because of the snow but we did have to do a food shop this morning because the cupboards were a little bare.  Anyway I made this card last night which I am entering into the following challenges.  I know I said I don't like to make a habit of combining too many challenges but there seems to be a lot of challenges with the same theme at the moment.

Simon Says Stamp ~ Hot Chocolate

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Good Afternoon

I couldn't believe my eyes when I peeked out of the curtains this morning to be greeted with yet more snow!  I am seriously fed up with it now as are most people I know (including the children!). Luckily on checking our mobiles we had had received a text to say the schools were closed so at least we didn't have to defrost the car.  By mid morning the snow had stopped so we all wrapped up and went outside to play in the snow.  Here are a few photos!

New Beginnings

Good Morning

My Allsorts teamie Amanda has recently given birth to a beautiful baby boy 'Alfie'.  He was born on 31st Dec and weighed 9lb 10oz!  If you would like to see a few piccies of him pop over to Amanda's blog.

Last night I decided to make a card for Amanda to congratulate them on the safe arrival of little Alfie and luckily for me there are lots of 'New' challenges at the moment so I can enter it into 11 challenges.  To be honest I don't like to enter a card into more than a couple of challenges because I think it is a bit cheeky but because they are all a similar theme I decided to make an exception just this once!

The challenges are as follows:

Cupcake Craft ~ 'Baby Card'
One Stop Craft ~ 'Something beginning with B'

Image ~ Forever Friends
Papers ~ Craft Creations
Sentiment ~ Die Cut from The Range
Embellishments ~ Gems and Cuttlebug corners

Anyway I must go and catch up with some housework.  It is snowing again ~ wonder if I will get a phone call to say the schools are going to close early.  Take care if there is snow where you live.

Allsorts Challenge #33 ~ New or Old (plus a sketch!)

Good Morning

Allsorts is back with our first challenge of 2010!  This week Jules has set the challenge of  New or Old (plus a sketch!).  So for this challenge you can either show off your new Christmas craft goodies or be good and use up some of your old stash but please remember to use the sketch.  This week our sponsor is Funky Hand and the prize for one lucky winner is a 'Funky Daze' CD.

I decided to use both new and old stash for my card.  I have used my new Forever Friends 'Pink Parfait' papers that I bought with my Christmas money and my old item is the bear image which is from the Daisy & Dandelion 'Bubbles & Squeak' stamp set.

Image ~ Daisy & Dandelion 'Bubbles & Squeak' stamp set
Papers ~ Forever Friends 'Pink Parfait'
Pearls ~ Prima
Butterfly ~ Tabby Crafts
Flowers and Leaves ~ Stash and McGill and Woodware punches

I am now off into town to pick up a few bits and when I get home we are taking the Christmas tree and decorations down.  I love Christmas but once the New Year is here I can't wait to get back to normal.

Crafty Calendar Challenge #4 ~ Keeping Warm

Good Morning

Happy New Year!  It's certainly a very snowy start to 2010 here in Norfolk because we have had a covering of snow overnight. I can hardly believe 10 years ago we were celebrating the Millenium and I was pregnant with my daughter Chloe so it was a very exciting time.  However, that must mean my little girl is going to be 10 this year ~ where has the time gone?

Hope you all had a lovely New Year's Eve whether you were out partying or, like me, seeing the New Year in at home.  Luckily this year I did manage to stay awake to see the New Year in because I have been known to fall asleep on the sofa lol!

It's the first Friday of the month again so that means a new challenge has been set at the Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month the challenge is 'Keeping Warm' and the optional extra is 'Texture'.  This can be shown by the colours, image or texture and for my card I decided to show warmth through the papers and colours.  I have included texture with the swiss dots embossing folder, flowers and ribbon.

Image ~ Miss Anya
Papers ~ Basic Grey Bittersweet
Sentiment & Ribbon ~ Craftwork Cards
Flowers & Gems ~ Stash
Brad ~ Papermania pearl brad

Please pop over to the Crafty Calendar Challenge blog and check out the gorgeous cards made by the Design Team and our fab Guest DT Marianne.

I am also entering this card for the following challenges:

Roses on Paper Challenge ~ Favourite colouring medium (Promarkers).

Charisma Cardz Challenge ~ Celebrations! .

Chris' mum is coming over later and I am going to cook roast chicken with all the trimmings followed by chocolate orange gateau ~ yummy!  Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you have planned.

Before I go I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has visited my blog in 2009.  It really makes my day to read all your lovely comments and I look forward to your friendship in 2010.
