Allsorts #17 ~ Something for the Boys

Good Morning

This week at Allsorts it's Debs turn to set the theme and she has chosen 'Something for the Boys'.

This was a great challenge for me as I needed to make a birthday card for our friends' son who is going to be 12. He is really into golf so I decided to make him a golf card. I struggled to find an appropriate image for a 12 year old but luckily I found this cute decoupage download at Pollycraft.

Debs will be offering the following prize for the randomly chosen winner.

I am also entering this card for the Pollycraft Challenge 'Furry Friends'.

Forever Friends Baby Word Card

Hello

Earlier in the week I mentioned I had been working on a BABY word card for my cousin and his partner who had a baby boy 'Cameron John' 2 weeks ago. They decided to give him the middle name 'John' in memory of my dad and I must say I did shed a tear when my auntie phoned to tell me. I have also made and decorated a box but couldn't get a good photo. I bought a really sweet baby outfit today and hope to deliver the card and present over the weekend. Hope they like the card.

The word template is a download from Cuddly Buddly and all the images are Forever friends stickers which I have stuck onto card and cut out and mounted with foam pads. The sentiment was done on the computer. I have also added a few clear gems.

I am entering this card for the Forever Friends challenge 'Eyelets or Brads' and the One Stop Craft Challenge 'Cute and Cuddly'.

I will be back in the morning with my Allsorts DT card.

Allsorts Challenge ~ 'No Stamping' and a DT Call

Good Morning

It's Amanda's turn to set the challenge at Allsorts this week and she has chosen 'No Stamping'. That means no rubber stamped images or sentiments. Digi stamps are allowed. Amanda has also suggested a few different techniques you could use ~ parchment, iris folding, tea bag folding, decoupage to name a few.

It the days before I was into rubber stamps my favourite technique was decoupage so that's what I have chosen for this week's challenge.

I have made this card for my mum as she is going to a wedding this afternoon. She hasn't seen it yet. I am taking it to her this morning so hope she likes it.

I would also like to let you know about a brand new monthly challenge blog Crafty Calendar Challenge which is launching on 2nd October. There is a Design Team call at the moment which runs until 15th Sept.

I hope you are all looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend.

Allsorts Challenge ~ 'Sketch & Tear'

Good Morning

This week's Allsorts Challenge has been set by Jules and she has gone with a combination challenge 'Sketch & Tear'

Firstly you need to use the sketh but Jules would also like to see some torn edges on your work this week. It can be just one edge or lots of edges - just tear your paper as much as you dare.

I struggled at first because the thought of tearing my papers upset me a little and to be honest I didn't really have a clue how to do it. However, I plucked up the courage and I actually quite like the finished result.

Here is my DT card

Sentiment ~ Whiff of Joy
Everything else from stash

We are now off out as Chris and Jamie are having their hair cut at 10:00 and then the children want to spend the money they have been saving in their money boxes. Chloe wants a DS game and no doubt my 'tractor mad' son will want yet another tractor.

Have a great weekend and hope the sun is shining for you.

The Sugar Bowl ~ Challenge 17

Good Morning

I think it's going to be another scorcher here today! I hope the sun is shining wherever you are today. Here is my card for The Sugar Bowl which is a fab sketch by Judy with the extra option of handmade flowers. I have only used 2 handmade flowers on my card because with the leaves the third one just didn't look right. Hope this is okay DT!

Papers ~ MME Bloom & Grow
Flowers ~ X-Cut punches with pearl centres.
Leaves ~ Woodware punch

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look! I really appreciate all your lovely comments on my cards ~ it makes my day lol!

Forever Friends & Secret Crafter

Good Afternoon

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. The weather in Norfolk has been fantastic today which was perfect because we went to the beach. Chris and I were off work last week so have had several days out and decided to finish our week by spending our last day at Cromer in North Norfolk which is about a 45 minute drive from where we live. We are back to work tomorrow but luckily for me I only work Mondays and Fridays.

Anyway onto my card which I made last night. I have combined 2 challenges for this card ~ Forever Friends 'Lazy Days of Summer' and Secret Crafter 'Fancy Corners'.

I feel like I cheated with this card because the image is a sticker but I didn't have any Forever Friends stamps which suited a summer theme.

Papers ~ Daisy & Dandelion
Corners ~ Die cuts
Flowers ~ Papermania and Petaloo
