Crafty Calendar Challenge ~ Under the Sea

Good morning

It's the first Saturday of the month so a new challenge has been set at Crafty Calendar Challenge.  This month's theme has been set by the lovely Karina who has chosen 'Under the Sea'.  Our sponsor is the fabulous Wild Orchid Crafts.

I have kept the layout simple because I didn't want to cover up too much of this gorgeous backing paper.  I have sprayed the images with Crafter's Companion Spray & Sparkle (Iridescent).  Not sure if you can see it very well but IRL it glistens.

Looks like it's going to be a lovely sunny day here we will hopefully be able to have a BBQ later. 

Chloe is going on a school trip to the Lake District on Monday so I have lots of things to organise for that this weekend.  She has been away before several times with Brownies/Guides but this is the first time she has travelled so far from home and she is a little bit worried about it.  However, I am sure she is going to have a great time and all her worries will disappear when she is having fun with her friends.

Halloween Tilda

Good afternoon

It's another lovely sunny day here today.  My son is having a friend from school round tonight so hope the weather stays nice so they can play outisde for a while before tea.  It's been a bit quiet on my blog for the last couple of weeks but I have been busy with DT work.  All will be revealed in the next couple of weeks :o)  Yesterday I decided to have a break from my DT projects and made a Halloween card using this cute Tilda image.  I think she is from last year's Halloween collection but is new to me.

I had to take Jamie to a birthday party this afternoon so while he was at the party Chloe and I had a wander round the town. We bought a few bits and bobs and then stopped for some refreshments. Chloe had a very yummy looking cupcake but I just had a coffee because I am on the Weight Watchers diet so trying to be good. Anyway enough about my day and onto my card.

Pink Tilda

Good afternoon

It's another dull dreary day here.  I hope the weather improves for the weekend because Chloe is going on her Brownie camp holiday tomorrow night.  We are going to be busy when she gets home from school today sorting out all the stuff she needs to take.  It will probably involve a quick dash to Tescos because no doubt there will be something on the list that we haven't got. 

This card has been in the making for a couple of days.  On Tuesday some of the new Magnolia stamps arrived on my doormat and this one was my fav so I had to ink it up and colour straightaway.  I made it into a card yesterday but haven't had time to pop it on my blog until now.  This stamp is called 'Tilda with Wedding Gifts' but I think it is perfect for birthdays and Christmas. 

For the last few weeks I have been colouring with Copics but decided to colour this image with Promarkers because I hadn't used them in a while.  I like the finished result of both pens but  I must admit I find Promarkers easier to use.

Fairy Dust Tilda

Good afternoon

Last week I bought some gorgeous digi papers designed by Donna at  Bearly Mine Designs.  There are 5 designs (Flower Delight, Dots, Gingham, Floral Dreams and Just Plaid).  I couldn't make up my mind which ones to have so bought them all and I have just seen that Donna is also releasing 2 new sets this Friday.

It is the first time I have used this sweet Fairy Dust Tilda image and I did struggle a little with this image because Tilda is sitting down.  Because I am not very good at masking I usually cut out my sitting down images and mount them with foam pads.  However, with this image it didn't look right because of the 'fairy dust' around her so I got inspiration from Bev's stunning card using this image and used my Copics to make it look like Tilda is sitting on something. I am not overly keen on my attempt but hopefully I will get better with practice.

Hope you are all having a fab weekend!  On Friday we went to my mum's for lunch, yesterday Jamie went to a birthday party and today Chris' mum is coming for lunch so I haven't had much time to craft.  I did, however, manage to find time to finish Jamie's Easter card.  To be honest he isn't really into cards and no doubt when I give it to him after lunch will be more interested in the chocolate.  Chloe on the other hand loves cards.  I don't normally add flowers to male cards so hope it is okay.

I am going to be busy this weekend and next taking and collecting the children to birthday parties.  Chloe has been invited to 2 parties this weekend (today and tomorrow) and Jamie has been invited to a party next Saturday.  Parties seem to be very popular again amongst Chloe's friends this year.  Think it might be because they are turning 10 and are having parties to celebrate getting into double figures.  Well that's my theory anyway lol!

Ladybug Tilda Wall Hanging

Good Evening

The challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge is to make a wall hanging.  When I started to make this I was going to punch 2 holes along the top and thread ribbon for it to hang from.  However, I thought it might get dusty so I have since decided to mount it in a shadow box.  My daughter really likes it so I will hang it on her bedroom wall once I have been to The Range to buy the shadow box.

Good Morning

Just a quick post because I need to get the children ready for school. No work for me today as it's Jamie's class assembly this morning and in the afternoon it's his school fete and I am on the refreshment stall. Chris is also taking the day off work today.
