My favourite cards of 2009!

Our Christmas and Pink Gem Candy
It's been ages since I last posted. Life has been so busy and I just haven't had time to blog. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. We have had a wonderful time but it has also been very busy. We spent Christmas Day at home with the children and Chris' Mum came over for the day. Had a bit of a rest on Boxing Day ~ just popped to The Range with Jamie while Chris put together Chloe's desk. Yesterday we went to my Mum's and had another Christmas Day so more food and presents. So today I really need to do some housework!
I was very lucky this year because Chris bought me a new camera. It is a Panasonic G1 Lumix. I will definitely need to read the instruction book but luckily it has an automatic mode because I think I will need it! I didn't get any crafty presents this year but did get some money so think I might visit my favourite online craft shops later to see if I can find a bargain or two!
Now on to the Pink Gem Candy! How would you like to win 6 stamps from Pink Gem Designs? If you would then pop over to Janet's blog to enter.
I also thought I would let you know that Pink Gem Designs has a NEW YEAR SALE. There is a 15% discount off all products (excluding gift vouchers) until the end of January, while stocks last.

Allsorts Challenge ~ Anything But a Card
It's certainly a 'Winter Wonderland' here in Norfolk here today. If only it could have waited until next week so we had a 'White Christmas' because no doubt it will have all disappeared by then.
This week at Allsorts Debs has set the challenge 'Anything But a Card'. This week our sponsor is Ruth at A Passion for Stamps. Don't forget to check the challenge blog to see if you were last week's winner or one of Brenda's Top 5.
I decided to make another page for my Christmas 2008 album. The photograph is my daughter on Christmas morning last year. The papers are K&Co and embellishments are from my stash.

Allsorts Challenge ~ 'Pearls and Swirls'
I still have quite a few to make so i'm afraid it's yet another Christmas card. I haven't decided whether to give this card to my Mum or MIL. Think I might make another one in a different colour and then decide.

Anyone for Anya
I can't believe it's the 1st Dec today ~ this year has gone so quick! I have done quite a bit of my Christmas shopping but still have quite a few things to get and lots of cards still to be made!
I have had a little break from making Christmas cards because I needed a card for Megan's 16th Birthday which is today. (Megan is Chris' cousin's daughter ~ are you still with me lol!) I must admit I really enjoyed making this card. It all came together just how I wanted. In fact I enjoyed it so much I have also decorated the inside and made a matching box.
This card is for this week's Anyone for Anya challenge which is a fab sketch. I was so pleased when I saw the sketch as it was perfect for Megan's card. It is the first time I have used any of my Miss Anya stamps but this image was an absolute dream to colour.

Charity Candy
Victoria at Blue Jelly Too has some fabulous blog candy on offer until 9th Dec. But this is no ordinary candy because Victoria is giving away this candy to raise funds for charity ~ SANDs Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity.
This charity is very special to Victoria because 3 years ago her first baby, Flynn, tragically died when he was just two days old following birth complications at 42 weeks.
When I saw Victoria's candy post I really wanted to help her raise money for this charity because 6 years ago I lost our baby boy, Ben, when I was 22 weeks pregnant because of a congenital birth defect. We were absolutely devastated by the loss of our baby son and even now I can clearly remember how grief stricken we felt.
So if you would like to help Victoria raise funds for this fantastic charity here's what you have to do. Victoria would like you to send her your handmade cards and/or gifts wrapped with envelopes in a saleable state. She will then pass these on to SANDs who will sell and keep 100% of the proceeds to help set up new SANDs groups across the UK. For every card you send you get 1 blog candy entry. So 1 card = 1 entry, 10 cards = 10 entries etc.

I am going to make a few cards using these die-cuts for the Christmas Fair I am doing in a couple of weeks so I would be most grateful if you could let me know what you think and also what you think is a reasonable price to charge for a handmade card (6 x 6 size).

This week Jules has set the challenge and she has chosen 'Bring out your Bling'.
We are being sponsored by Digistamp Boutique this week and Sally-Ann very kindly let the DT choose an image of their choice from the boutique. There are so many gorgeous images and I really was spoilt for choice. As my daughter's name is Chloe I decided to have the 'Chloe with Snowball' image.

As we are heading towards winter I decided to make a snowy/frosty card. This is the first time I have used this sweet Sugar Nellie 'Snowflake' stamp as I was saving her for this challenge lol! Penny Black ~ Pink Christmas
Hope you are all having a good week so far. This morning Chloe said she had a 'tummy ache' so after trying to work out if she was really unwell or trying to get a day off school I decided to let her stay at home. To be honest she doesn't make a habit of trying to get a day off school but has been known to now and again lol! I think today could have been one of those days as she seemed fine when she was on the computer and watching TV so it's off to school for you tomorrow young lady!
Anyway while she was on the computer I managed to make a card for the following challenges; 1) Susie's Sassy Challenge ~ Christmas. This is a new fortnightly challenge and there is a fantastic prize worth over £60 for one lucky person. 2) Create4Fun Challenge ~ Sketch and again another fab prize of Nestabilities Octagons. Popcorn the Bear
The children went back to school today so I spent most of the day tidying up. However, I managed to find a spare couple of hours this afternoon after the school run to make this card. It's the first time I have used any of the Popcorn the Bear Christmas stamps. I love these cute stamps but they are a quite big for the 6 x 6 cards I like to make and I couldn't make my mind up whether or not to put something in the top left corner but in the end I decided not to and think it was the right decision.
This card is for the following challenge; Creative Card Crew ~ 'Ribbon & Gems', My Time to Craft ~ 'So Many Scallops' and Stamp Something ~ 'Cute & Fuzzy'

One Stop Craft Challenge are celebrating their blogoversary and the challenge this week is 'Celebration' so I have made a birthday card.
This card is for Uncle Mike's birthday. Uncle Mike isn't a relative but Mike and his wife Pat have been friends with Chris' Mum and Dad for over 50 years and Chris has always called them Auntie and Uncle. I am sure most of you have an Auntie Pat or an Uncle Mike lol! Anyway Mike is a keen bowls player so I decided to make him a card using this cute Jolly Nation bowls man.

We are going to have a busy day today because we are taking the children and a friend to Planet Zoom which is an indoor play place and then tonight we are going out for a meal to celebrate my birthday. It's just going to be the 2 of us because Chris' mum is coming round to look after the children. It feels strange to go out without the children as we do lots of things together and to be honest I always feel mean leaving them at home but I am sure they will have a lovely time with Nanny.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Popcorn the Bear
I had a spare couple of hours this morning and it was a toss up between making a card and housework! Yep you guessed it I decided to make a card! I really need to make lots of cards because I am having a stall at the Christmas Fair in our village on 28 November. This is the first time I have done anything like this and to be honest I am a little scared. My 9 year old daughter Chloe is coming along to help me (hold my hand lol!).
A few weeks ago I bought Popcorn the Bear Cosy & Warm CD so this morning I decided to print off some papers. There is a huge variety on this CD and I know I am going to make quite a few cards using it in the next few weeks in preparation for the Christmas Fair.
This card is for 2 challenges. The challenge at It's a Crafters Companion challenge is a fab sketch and there is a DT call because one of the DT members has decided to step down because of family committments.

The paper is from the Bearly Mine Designer Extreme Vol III CD, Ribbon from stash, Flowers are Green Tara (Purple & Green) and the orange one is Petaloo (I have removed the yellow gem and replaced it with a black Kanban pearl). This card is for my daughter, Chloe, so hope she likes it!
Sorry about the photo ~ my camera didn't like the colours for some reason!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. It is sunny here today (and a little chilly) so I am now going to take Jamie for a bike ride.

Autumn Days and Passion for Promarkers Blog Hop
I think autumn has definitely arrived in Norfolk today. There is a chill in the air and it just feels very autumnal. We have been very lucky as we have had very little rain all summer unlike other parts of the UK. I love autumn and it always makes me think back to when I was at school and we used to sing 'Autumn Days' in school assemblies and harvest festivals. I will be singing this all day now lol!
Just thought I would let you know about the Blog Hop at Passion for Promarkers. The blog hop will last from 10am today until 9pm on Thursday. The lucky winner will win a whole set of 56 new colour ProMarkers kindly donated by Letraset. WOW what a fantastic prize. Don't know why I am spreading the word as I want to win them lol!
So if you would like the chance to win join in the fun HERE.
